About

We, Megan de Beyer, Charles Dick-Hutchinson and Joseph Stodgel, are three students of the Schumacher College in Devon, UK currently working on our dissertation research in the Overberg region of South Africa. Amongst a growing number of people everyday we are working with Nicola Vernon who has been a powerful force in the establishment of the local chapter of the worldwide movement known as the Transition Town Network. Areas of particular interest and in-depth research include ecopsychology and inner transition, organic permaculture and natural farming methods, transition, ecological and humane pedagogies,  and upcycling practices and local waste management issues.
